Live Music! Michael Jan Kelly ~

Michael plays jazz and blues guitar instrumentals – slow moving, heartfelt tone, sure to please those who long to hear that “blue” note.
A little about Michael Jan Kelly in his words:

The first time I was moved by music was when I heard my dad, Jan Kelly, play his Kay guitar through his Fender “Champ” amp when I was a small boy. That sound blew me away. I goofed off with my dad’s guitar now and then, but I didn’t take music seriously until I heard Robert Cray on the radio and saw him at the Moore Theater on Second Avenue in Seattle. His tone sent me to the music store to buy a Fender Stratocaster and a Fender amplifier. After my purchase I immersed myself in listening to the emotional soaring sounds of Albert King, Albert Collins, Mark Knopfler, Robin Trower, David Gilmour, and Carlos Santana. Later I was drawn to the instrumental jazz of Wes Montgomery, Kenny Burrell, Jim Hall, and Howard Roberts.I like instrumental music that moves slow and goes deep. For me, music should arrest you. It should grab you and move you somewhere, not with brute force, but with subtle persuasion. This is what I’m forever trying to accomplish. However much I may fail in this journey, this is why I play guitar.
