Grangeville, ID–The Salmon River Ranger District is beginning construction at the Vinegar Creek Recreation Site on the Salmon River. Current work includes extending 2 ramps, expanding parking and adding a new toilet. River users may experience delays. The following guidelines have been put in place to reduce confusion during construction.
- Only 1 ramp may be closed at one time.
- Work will be completed on lower ramp (high water ramp) before beginning work on most up river ramp (main ramp).
- No road closure will be allowed. Temporary closure in the immediate vicinity for a maximum of 30 minutes at a time.
In an effort to lessen the time needed for work to be completed, we ask river users to keep ramp areas clear of trailers and vehicles. In addition, the Forest Service will fence off specific areas to accommodate contractors. Please help us by passing this notice on to interested parties and abiding by the requirements.
